The objective of this article is to review the specifics of the online journalism and to give practical advice for improvement of the online versions of the printed media. The emphasis is put on the influence the Internet has over the readers and what is most commonly searched on the web.
More and more publishers in Bulgaria realize the necessity of hiring journalists, who would be entirely involved with the internet version of the printed publication. The transition from the Gutenberg age to the digital one raises many questions about how the contemporary journalism shall be organized and how the new problems standing before it shall be solved. The Internet communications made a great transition, providing people with the opportunity to communicate, trade, study and entertain themselves on the web. This brought the necessity to study the online communication. Among the distinctive characteristics of the internet journalistic, reviewed in the article, is effectiveness, constant communication with readers, the opportunity to connect with them in real time.
