This is how i want the next pokemon game to play out, it should be a rts(real time strategy). This is actually difficult unless you assign each pokemon a specific fighting style (healer, fighter, defender, teamworker, etc…) this is similar to kingdom hearts or some of the newer final fantasy games, but i grow tired of turn based strategy pokemon, i need something new to buy. I don’t care if they add 150 more unoriginal pokemon with three basic type starters, there needs to be something new. Team rocket should be nazi or terrorist based, their actions conflict with your quest to get all badges. This should be similar to RDR:UN when you can save a town but after a certain amount of time, the zombies would take it back and you would have to save it again. The starter system should be random but each player will get a medium based pokemon (low based are normal, fighting, ghost, or rock types, medium class are basic types, high class are legendary pokemon with dragon and psychic types). All starters can be caught at some point in the game but the pokemon you start with should be random. A random pokemon saves you from criminal thugs or something batmanish. Fighting trainers and gym leaders should be one pokemon at a time but with the skill of a 3D fighting game such as dragonballz. Each fight should have a stage so you shouldn’t run into other people, pushed out of the stage and you lose in a trainer fight, gym leaders have the confines of their gym so if you hit a wall its more damage. Against team rocket they should have guns and maybe pokemon, but the fighting shouldn’t be fair, it should be 6 on 6 against thugs and the faster triggerman wins. If you faint against team rocket then you start over, so it’s good to have a defending pokemon as well. Fighting team rocket should be difficult, you could be fighting 6 people with 6 pokeomon at the same time (i hope 3ds can handle it) air combat with most pokemon can be done(star fox). Moves that seem useless in games before can be used effectively here, a metapod with harden could used as a shield from bullets. Teleport should be a saved move, it can be used to jump across the battlefield. Hostage situations should be common with dealing with team rocket. When catching a pokemon, there should be a quickdraw where if the pokemon is easily catched, they try to run away and a slowmo pokeball throwing method should happen, you select the pokeball and you quickly aim in slowmotion. Of course, the point of this method is to be able to catch a pokemon easy if you hit it with the pokeball in a certain spot. bumping people and doing crimes should give you a wanted level. They will give bounties for certain criminals and if caught your pokemon will lose fondness and you will have to pay an exceptionally large fine. Thugs should be common in new cities and are surprise attacks in unusual places. bikers thugs are a good example, but they should be mainly in cities. Legendary pokemon should be challenge levels and then they can be caught. Fighting in open areas with legendary pokemon should bring about assassins and thieves that want your rare pokemon. The last boss should be novel and not just an easy kill, it should be a swordsman or an extremely experienced sword type pokemon with a samurai theme or maybe even a pokemon you encounter at the beginning of the game. He will swiftly destroy all of your pokemon and you have to brawl him bare knuckle, using your slowmotion power as an easy tool but your attacks are very basic. Fighting the elite for should be turn based because it is based on skill rather than physical skill of dodging attacking and blocking. And that is how i think the next pokemon game should be.
